Thanks to a worldwide fan-base we now have our latest look at Legendary’s reboot of Godzilla. A little bit ago, people were asked to submit their version of the Godzilla roar to roar.godzillamovie.com, which is still up and worth a look. It didn’t take long before the submissions lead to this, a new trailer for the upcoming Gareth Edwards film.
So it appears the villain monster in the new film is really starting to take shape (editor’s note: Is that F**KING RODAN?!) , but more importantly, so is the human element of the story. One of the best sub-generes of sci-fi is “s*** goes bad in a lab” movies, and it appears there’s some of that in this new Godzilla film, just on a massive scale.
What do you guys think of the latest trailer?
Godzilla hits theaters May 16th courtesy of Legendary and Warner Brothers.
@Kurono I say it as I see it, I’m not too concerned that I don’t consult IMDB or Wikipedia every time I speculate on something.
Godzilla is trying to copy Pacific Rims success?
So, the fact that Godzilla has been in production before PR even released means nothing? Lolok.
Trailer is great. I’m so pumped for this movie.
Someone in Hollywood saw Pacific Rim’s success and wanted a piece of the pie. What better way to do it than rebooting an established franchise? Still, giant monsters beating hell out of each other whilst leveling a city never gets old.
Hollywood is officially out of ideas.
@DJ Kento I’d totally be down! Let’s get a group together.
No its definitely not Rodan, it is Mothra. If you watch the clip again you can see there is an egg with silk like webbing wrapped around it. btw am i the only one who doesn’t consider Godzilla a bad guy.
The trailer teases some truly intense battle sequences between Godzilla and the winged flying Muto
That looks like Mothra.

It’s not Rodan apparently. io9 covered this a month ago:

Anyone want to meet up in San Francisco opening day? I’m seeing it at The Metreon in IMAX (REAL IMAX… not the fake one across the bay).
If you want I’d love to get a bunch of nerdist fans together to enjoy the film and talk about it over sushi and drinks afterwards. Who’s down?
