Remember that heartfelt wedding story of the new bride surprising her husband with a mariachi band playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time tunes? Well, that wedding has just been outdone by book nerds Meredith Fahey and Joshua Votaw as they brought to life the world of Harry Potter for the matrimony.
You read that right. For the couple’s nuptials, they reached new levels of awesome nerdiness and recreated minute details from the Harry Potter books including having a Professor Snape look-alike officiate the wedding.
If that’s not enough for you, friends and family members helped create “flower bouquets” fastened together with wands, programs made to look like tickets to board Hogwarts Express, and even the famed sorting hat. But my favorite bit of all is the little felt recreation of Dobby.
Take a look at the awesomeness below:
Sadly, we don’t get to see the couple fly off into the sunset on broomsticks, but that’s alright considering the amount of butter beer consumed at events like this.

I too had a potter themed wedding…it was fantastic
I find it sad that anyone would give any attention to anything Harry Potter as it is a rip off of Neil Gaiman’s Books of Magic. #plagiarism #SADPEOPLE
I find it sad that people believe unfounded rumors. Gaiman himself doesn’t believe Harry Potter is a rip-off of the Books of Magic: http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2008/04/fair-use-and-other-things.html
This is incredible. As a huge fan of the Potter books, I’m seriously impressed with their creativity. I’d have LOVED to have been a guest at this wedding.
Genius!!!! Why didn’t we think of that when we got married?!?!
