When last we left Rick and the gang, things had gotten pretty hairy when they were all forced into a container at the hands of the residents of the recently discovered “safe haven,” Terminus. We still don’t know for sure if Terminus is the same Terminus of the comic’s famed cannibals, and after watching this epic trailer for the upcoming fifth season of The Walking Dead… well, we still don’t know. But, right now we don’t care because everything we’re seeing in the new trailer looks incredible.

As interesting (and money saving) a story technique it is to watch the gang split up and be tracked a little bit at a time per episode, it would be nice if the line “we’re not splitting up again” is vehemently adhered to in the upcoming season. We’ve had a lot of episodes where the group was fractured, but now it’s time to watch them work together out in the open as a unit, just like they did before things went to hell in the prison.

The series had a stellar reception at its San Diego Comic-Con panel earlier today, and with the premiere date now confirmed for Sunday, October 12^th at 9pm, we won’t be waiting much longer it seems for a fresh dose of zombie goodness from AMC, Robert Kirkman and the rest of the production team.
