Sometimes reading books and watching films over and over again isn’t enough. There are some stories you want to immerse yourself in, and the world of Harry Potter is one I would love to explore. Sure, Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one way to do that (they have butterbeer!), but if you want to take your Potter adoration to another level, why not consider a live action role play game (LARP)? Specifically at the College of Wizardry in Czocha, Poland.
You guys, they have a castle for this LARP. A real, freaking castle. You spend three days in said castle living out your dreams of attending Hogwarts. The College of Wizardry is run by volunteers, and they strive to re-create both the visual feel of the movies and some of the drama. Watch this video from their November event to see why I’m drooling over the idea of attending:
I’ve never participated in a LARP but for this? I’d don some school robes and develop a quirky character like Luna Lovegood in a heartbeat. If only this experience wasn’t all the way in Poland!
But, if you can get to Czocha, you’re in luck because registration is open for the next session of the College of Wizardry. It takes place on April 16-19th, and the price is 280⬠or $348. That gets you lodging at the castle as well as your meals, and they provide you with the basics – a robe, a study book, and a tie in your House color. That’s a rather reasonable price tag for a weekend getaway playing in the world of Harry Potter, you just have to buy the plane ticket. Need more convincing? Look at photos from the event.
Who else wants to sign up for this LARP experience?

A group in NYC has started up something similar! More Diagon Alley than Hogwarts Castle though: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hallows-Horcruxes/509257449196253
Heh I know that castle so well because I was living like 15 km far from it : ) Damn I’ve moved to UK and they’ve innovated something like that… I am so unlucky. Anyway I Wanna get there someday for that event ;3
😀 I’m from Poland ;P
My coworker went as research… she said it was awesome!
We want to do this here! Can never get enough Harry Potter!
Do I need to speak Polish?
You didn’t, actually. I was in the first one, and it was all in English. Going back for the next one!
