Rejoice, nerds! Magic is headed back to your TV sets in a big way. Mark down April 6th in your calendar, you won’t want to miss this. Our own Justin Willman (host of Magic Meltdown and all around awesome magician) will debut his new show Sleight of Mouth on Comedy Central at 12:30am EST. The show is produced by Nerdist Industries, so we’re just saying — you know it’s going to be awesome, okay? We wouldn’t let you down!
The show looks like a perfect blend of magic and comedy. The trailer has a few moments I can’t wait to catch, including Willman solving a rubik’s cube in less than a minute. Whoa. Other hilarious bits to look forward to include Willman bringing along comedian Doug Benson while he performs tricks for people who may be a little bit under the influence. There’s also a face-off between the magician and a group of super tech savvy kids. Who needs magic when you can code and program a robot to do things? Psh, whatever. Magic could avada kedavra your tech toys and make them disappear for good.
The teaser trailer below only gives a taste of the show, but it’s definitely got us wanting more. What else does Willman have planned up his sleeve? Can he transform a bunch of stoners into magic buffs? Certainly. Even bigger question: will he pull a rabbit out of his hat? Yes, please. Enjoy the trailer below, swing by our WonderCon booth this Sunday if you’d like to see Willman perform in person, and don’t forget to save the date and tune in on April 6th at 12:30am EST. We’ll bring the snacks.
