“It begins.”
Aside from what is sure to be an awesome flood sequence, there are a bunch of interesting tidbits contained in the first official trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, such as the surprise appearance of “the Others” from Lost, who appear to be pissed that Russell Crowe built a boat (or “ark” if you prefer) for all the animals, but not for them. Another welcome surprise is that Sir Anthony Hopkins appears to be reprising his Odin character, seen in this trailer pre-eye patch, to portray the oldest man in the world, everyone’s favorite Biblical Highlander, Methuselah. Although I didn’t notice much of her in the trailer, the beautiful Jennifer Connelly is second-billed so expect her to appear a lot in the actual film, or at the very least to have a few poignant scenes because, let’s be honest, Aronofsky still kind of owes her for that whole “ass-to-ass” scene in Requiem for a Dream.
The film, which also stars Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, and Ray Winstone, will be in theaters and IMAX March 28th, 2014. They should fill all the theaters with water and make everyone wear galoshes to the opening weekend screenings. If they’d have done that for Waterwold, maybe it would’ve been a hit….
Logan Lerman is 100% Jewish and Jennifer Connelly’s mother is Jewish. Surely they can play Old Testament characters.
Amazing how all the middle-eastern, biblical-era, Jewish people were actually Caucasian, English Speakers living in a land that looks remarkably like present day Iceland.
What? Somebody who is neither afraid of the Bible, nor using it to justify hatred?

I don’t know if I should be excited or really disappointed that Darren Aronofsky is making this movie.
