The STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT Trailer is a Live-Action Nostalgia Trip

Remember those sweet childhood days where we dreamt of  traveling to a galaxy, far, far, away? Where we could learn the ways of the Jedi or even join the Rebel Alliance (or the Empire—dark)? You know we’ve all grabbed some flashlights at some point in our lives and pretended they were lightsabers. And with the launch of Star Wars: Battlefront just around the corner, Sony has released a new live-action trailer for said title that reminds us of those good old days where all we dreamt about was becoming one with the Force. Watch the nostalgia-inducing clip above.

Now that you’ve wiped your tears away, let’s all agree that the nostalgia is strong with this one. I’d say this is one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen to use this angle so effectively, but a lot of that is probably because of the Star Wars franchise’s popularity. Almost everyone can relate to those younger days of loving everything Star Wars-related. That’s just the power of this brand. I would, however, advise against chucking a chair through a window—no matter how boring your job may be.

Whether you enjoyed the beta test or not, you have to admit that this trailer hit you right in the feels, and effectively hypes up the game even more. With all the new Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens information trickling out recently, there really is no better time to be nerf-herder. You can nab Star Wars: Battlefront on your platform of choice on November 17.

As for the official Nerdist review on Battlefront, check out what Dan and Malik had to say from E3 this year:

Did you tear up a bit while watching this trailer? Are you more inclined to nab a copy of the game once it releases, to rekindle a friendship? Let us know in the comments below.
