By the looks of this Sherlock season four trailer, things don’t seem great for Sherlock, Watson, or anyone involved in the antics of Baker Street. While at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, the panel for Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ adaptation of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle series were treated to a very dread-ridden, ominous look at what’s to come. And it appears that Moriarty is involved in a big, big way.
Thankfully, you don’t need to be at the convention center to see itâwe’ve got it right here right now. And get ready to gasp, because we did at least four times. To call this spoiler-filled is an understatement:
It’s not a game anymore. #Sherlock season 4 coming in 2017â¦https://t.co/Voh3PboH77

All the questions we had heading into this seasonâwho’s “the other one” Mycroft mentioned at the end of the series’ last installment? Is Moriarty still alive? Will Mary betray Watson?âhave officially gone out the window because now all we want to know is: WHO’S GONNA DIE? Because, like, obviously something really bad is going to happen. In fact, during our interview with the gang and Camp Conival (coming soon! So keep it locked here to watch it!) Moffat described season four as “terminal.” Here’s hoping this is just another instance of Moff lying, since he’s so proficient at it.
Though we don’t have an exact premiere date outside of 2017 (though Gatiss told us it would be “early 2017” so fingers crossed), we’re waiting with breath that is baited for these next 3 episodes.
