Your wish is Garmin’s command. Your GPS can sound like this:
Or this:
Yes, there’s a reason to use your old Garmin GPS instead of your phone for navigation: They’re offering Yoda and Darth Vader voice direction. They’re $12.99 each. (Accuracy of the voices is somewhat variable; Unfortunately, Yoda doesn’t sound a lot like Frank Oz)Â While I like the Darth Vader conclusion “You have reached your destination. Impressive. Most impressive,” I really don’t need to spend thirteen bucks on it. And I shudder to think how he’d say “recalculating.” I have enough trouble with the standard female Garmin voice saying that in her resigned, exasperated manner. I KNOW WHERE I’M GOING. STOP JUDGING ME.
Both are poor imitations of Frank Oz and James Earl Jones…
I disagree. I think The Yoda sounds correct, it’s the Vader that sounds wrong. The metallic voice isn’t deep enough. Either way, not enough to get me to buy it. GPS devices are evil and are incorrect more often than not.
Yeah… hearing either of those voices on a constant basis will NEVER get annoying… (feel free to soak in the sarcasm)
A GLaDOS one would be perfect! It would tell you that you’re going the wrong way, and try to kill you at each chance…
These are great!! I hope they make GLaDOS and/or Wheatley sound pack next!
