THE PUNISHER Episode Titles Revealed Through Morse Code

With the release of Netflix and Marvel‘s The Defenders behind us–I mean, come on, the show dropped August 18, that’s ANCIENT HISTORY in Netflix years–it’s time to look forward to the next Marvel series coming to Netflix. A teaser trailer for the The Punisher was released as a post-credits scene at the end of The Defenders, and ever since then we’ve been on the edge of our seats waiting for more information on The Punisher (aka Frank Castle) and his first standalone adventure in the Netflix Marvel ‘verse.

If you’ve been hanging around The Punisher Twitter account today, you’ll have noticed that Frank has been feeling a bit saucy. The account has been tweeting out a litany of cryptic messages. It all started when this tweet (written in Morse code) hit Twitter:

For those who aren’t fluent in their Morse code, that says “3 AM.” At first blush, it seemed like the account was trying to give us a hint that some juicy Punisher-related news would drop early Tuesday morning. Then, the account continued to tweet out cryptic messages in Morse (but not in a thread, because Frank’s too busy punishing bad guys to learn the more subtle points of Twitter).

Translation: Two Dead Men

Translation: Kandahar

After 13 Morse code tweets, it became super clear that these were episode titles. So without further ado, here are the episode titles for the first season of The Punisher:

  • “3 AM”
  • “Two Dead Men”
  • “Kandahar”
  • “Resupply”
  • “Gunner”
  • “The Judas Goat”
  • “Crosshairs”
  • “Cold Steel”
  • “Front Toward Enemy”
  • “Virtue of the Vicious”
  • “Danger Close”
  • “Home”
  • “Memento Mori”

Several of these titles obviously refer to Frank Castle’s military past, namely “Kandahar”, which was where Frank was stationed in Afghanistan. “The Judas Goat” seems to hint at betrayal–something Frank knows all too well–it’s just not clear where the betrayal is coming from.

But like I said, Frank’s feeling saucy, y’all, so we didn’t just get a tweet of episode titles in hard-to-read code. No, the account also released this video teasing (emphasis on TEASING) the release date:

What a dirty trick, huh? We still don’t know the official drop date for the series, but it did look like the month portion of that illegible date was a double digit number. Since we know the show is releasing this year, that puts the release time somewhere between October and December. So that’s… something, right?

We’ll be keeping an eye on The Punisher‘s Twitter account all day today, and hopefully they’ll share even more information on this upcoming season and when we can expect it to land in our Netflix queues!

Based on the episode titles, do you have any theories about what’s to come this season on The Punisher? Tell us in the comments.
