The ORPHAN BLACK Sestrahood is Drawn Together in Show’s New Comic Book Series

When it comes to the sestrahood like no other there are many stories to tell. I mean, heck, that sort of thing is pretty much unavoidable when you’re telling the story of a bunch of clones, spread out throughout the world, that are part of a massive government conspiracy and science project gone way, way, way off the rails. That’s where IDW’s Orphan Black comic book comes into play, though: giving us more Clone Club antics than we previously could have previously dreamed.

According to Comic Book Resources, the collection will feature “all-new material exclusive to the comic books,” including Easter eggs and other clues regarding the upcoming third season (get ready to spiral into a conspiracy-fueled speculation k-hole). Also expanding on what little information we had before, each issue will explore the life of a different clone — meaning, hopefully, we’ll finally get more information about the girls’ European counterparts, and maybe even learn a bit more about the Proletheans.

Co-created by the series’ brain trust — John Fawcett and Graeme Manson — alongside writer Jody Houser, the group also worked with Szymon Kudranski, Cat Staggs, and the extremely talented Nick Runge (he did their initial variant cover) to ensure fans would not to want for any of the show’s brilliant stylization. Tatiana Maslany and Co. on the page remain the frenetic, exciting characters previously only seen on-screen. Staggs created not one, or two, or even three covers but EIGHT (yes, you read that right) variant covers featuring Sarah Manning with each of her sestras and also one (seen above) with Felix, her foster brother.

It’s being declared a miniseries so don’t get your hopes up for a forever-churning universe of clone conspiracy, but this should hopefully keep you sated until the third season premieres in 2015.

According to the post, the series (which includes a box set option) is slated to ship in February 2015. Which cover is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.
