The NEW GIRL’s Max Greenfield Wants You to Be His Roommate

If there’s one character on New Girl who’s kept us tuned in for four seasons, it’s Schmidt. The hilariously vain womanizer (whose first name remains unknown) has turned douchebaggery into high art and become the comedy’s true breakout star. Now the actor who plays the motormouth, Max Greenfield, is inviting fans to become his next roommate — by taking part in a new Omaze campaign to benefit Chrysalis, the nonprofit organization that breaks the cycle of poverty “by providing homeless and low-income individuals with a chance to rebuild their lives through employment.”

The reward levels range from $10 to $25,000 and include everything from exclusive thank-you cards and videos to “Good Schmidt” wristbands to “We Built This Schmidty” t-shirts and hoodies; even signed books, scripts and props. But every supporter gets chances to win the roommate contest, the winner of which gets a trip to Los Angeles to visit the New Girl set and take selfies with the cast on their couch.

Here’s how Greenfield describes his new roommate search: “Instead of resorting to Craigslist, I’m flying you and a friend to LA to be my roommates for a day! I’ll kick things off bright and early by teaching you my favorite CrossFit workout and how to post the results on Facebook in a way that is subtle, yet unabashedly detailed. After we clean up, I’ll pick out our outfits (It’s kind of my thing) and then we’re heading to the set of ‘New Girl’. Oh, and since you’ll technically be the newest, I’ll be sure to introduce you to the rest of the cast. We’ll hang out on set, snap selfies on the ‘New Girl’ couch, and if you’re lucky, maybe I’ll even tell you what Schmidt’s first name is. And just in case it doesn’t work out, you’ve got a 4-star hotel. But trust me: It’s going to work out. See you in LA!”
