The Most Intentionally Funny Video of The Day 1/28/14: Channel 101’s CAR JUMPER

A story with the headline “Humans have been controlling fire for at least 300,000 years” was posted today, which makes me wonder how many dozens or hundreds or possibly thousands of years that humans couldn’t control it and probably worshipped it out of fear. If that was the case, what was the turning point? Did someone just happen to smell wolf meat accidentally cooking in a random forest fire? I guess we’ll never know if the manipulation of fire by humans came out of a desire to grill meat, but that’s what I’m going with until the historical record proves me wrong. However, I do know with absolutely certainly (for me anyway) that below is The Most Intentionally Funny Video of The Day.

Today’s MIFV is the latest episode of Car Jumper by David Seger and Spencer Strauss at Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab’s independent short form series site Channel 101. If you enjoy meta-level take downs of police procedurals, this will be your brand new favorite thing.

Here’s the previous MIFV pick, in case you missed it.

Per usual, I’m taking submissions for the MIFV like so many featured in the past. I love finding new, hilarious videos from people hundreds and thousands of miles away, so please do send your videos so long as they follow the rules below.
-E-mail embeddable video link to [email protected] with subject line “MIFV Submission”
-Videos must have been posted online (i.e. have a time stamp that says so) within exactly two weeks from when you submit (i.e. videos uploaded more than 14 days from the day when you submit will not be up for consideration)
-Don’t add any cover letters or explanations; please just send the link

I normally like Channel 101, but there was not enough comedy or humor in this sketch to justify a 5 minute ad for Uber Cars. Subtle product placement is one thing, tongue-in-cheek product placement is another, but this was so blunt and unironic, it felt like it was written by Uber promoters rather than comics.
