THE MATRIX Turns 15 Today!

Back in March of 1999, audiences were given a choice: do they take the blue pill and wake up comfortably in their bed thinking everything was just a bad dream, or do they take the red pill and launch the last great pre-comic-book era franchise? Luckily for us, they chose the latter, and The Matrix was born.

Now, 15 years and two sequels later, series creators The Wachowskis are on the cusp of releasing an all new sci-fi flick, Jupiter Ascending, and are rumored to be hard at work on a brand new trilogy of Matrix films for Warner Brothers. That sounds like a winning combination in our book. Just the simple fact that The Matrix gave us bullet-time is more than enough to honor it on its 15th birthday.

It’s a little difficult to take you seriously when you can’t type like an adult.

teezeCrost You are not the only one!! I love them too!!!

  5. teezeCrost says:

All of them! I’m in the minority that thought all 3 films were brilliant. The burly brawl, freeway chase, and chateau fight scenes were worth the price of admission by themselves in reloaded. All 3 are fantastic!
Glad to hear there’s more on the way!

  6. Saeed says:

For me the Lobby shootout/massacre was my favourite bit. It was so intense, well choreographed, and the music that went with it just fit the tone so well.

I was okay with the sequels. They didn’t have the same impact and tone as the first, but as separate movies I thought they were fine.

  8. Randy Williams says:

The first one blew me away, but the second one was just bitching from start to finish. But I guess the best moment from the first was the bullet dodging scene. Bad ass…
