The Latest Trailer for THE MIST is Bloody and Intense

The Latest Trailer for THE MIST is Bloody and Intense

This is a big year for Stephen King. With the film adaptation of his wildly popular book series The Dark Tower headed to theaters on August 4, and Spike’s new series tangentially based on King’s story The Mist, there’s a lot of great King-based content for fans to check out. We’ve been excited to see how Spike planned to adapt The Mist into a series-long endeavor, and this latest trailer has proven that the series is going to be an exciting, intense, and super bloody journey. Check out the newest trailer here:

Christian Torpe, the showrunner of The Mist, has already called the series a “weird, twisted cousin” of King’s original novella, and by the looks of this trailer, he’s not lying. With the scope of the story broadened beyond the small group of survivors trapped in a grocery store, and a batch of new characters, The Mist is going to travel way beyond the craziness we saw in King’s original novella. Of course, this trailer doesn’t give away much in a realm of plot–it just shows us that shit is going to get real bloody once that mist rolls into this tiny Maine town.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that The Mist has been adapted for our viewing pleasure. In 2007 Frank Darabont adapted the story into a feature-length film. The ending to Darabont’s film was quite different from King’s ending, so while the Spike series is based on the book, not the movie, it will be interesting to see if Torpe steers the series towards the ending we saw in the novella or the Darabont film.

The Mist will roll into Spike on June 22. Be sure to get your DVRs ready!
