ALERT! NEW K OHLE FORMAT! The premiere episode of The K Ohle‘s homage to Radiolab, FactTime features podcast legend Paul F. Tompkins and comedian extraordinaire Matt Oberg as they get to the bottom of a very unique story about raccoons, sureness, and pizza. Producer Cyrus Ghahremani takes FactTime to the next audio level.
Thanks to Nick Thorburn from Islands for creating the theme song!

Incredible!
I love this so much. Matt Oberg is great as a radiolab-type voice. And the thing that made me laugh the Most, and continues to make me laugh when I think about it, is just the way he says:
“No matter how you put it, that’s *too many raccoons*’
Thanks for the compliments everyone!
I want to do this one ALL the time. I love it.
But the production and editing take so very very long.
If anyone is an editor and feels they would have the sensibilities to take a crack at editing the next one (not do the production work just the editing) please get in touch on facebook or twitter!
It’s not just an editing job – it’s a creating of a story. Essentially I improvise with someone for 40 minutes or so. Then, I get Matt in and try and explain what happened in the story and we come up with dumb theories. But the rough material covers a lot of dead narrative ends, so you have to pick and choose the narrative you want to build.
Anyway, if that sounds like something you could do, get i touch!
Wonderful parody. Well done.
I was hoping FactTime would draw inspiration from RadioLab when I heard it was going to be a public radio style format.
I did NOT expect it to be a pitch perfect, improv-ception spoof. This is fucking incredible.
Braunohler/Oberg 2014
I know it’s an homage, and the whole thing is predicated on Radiolab’s popularity/quality, but…Down with Radiolab, up with FactTime!!!
I absolutely love this format. Please keep this in your roation!
@Mark
Ok, I honestly stumbled across that podcast by random and never figured out who they actually were. Who were they and what are they doing now!? Because I miss it and this episode was in the exact same vein.
Oh my god T you nailed it, this is ABSOLUTELY like You Look Nice Today. Where is John Hodgman to provide some literally phoned-in interstitials?!
I’m only like 35 seconds in but this is an amazing Radiolab takeoff. Also as a lifetime New Hampshire resident I love the shoutout and can confirm my eye sockets are dead, dry craters.
GOT DAM this was so good
I love Radiolab. This was awesome.
I hate Radiolab. This was awesome.
I loved the straight-man/dead-pan approach to this one. Can’t say I ever really figured out what was going on, but I do know I was laughing the whole time. Only Braunohler could make something so quirky and so fact-laden simultaneously. Except for maybe those ‘You Look Nice Today’ fellows…
This episode is much more surreal if you’ve watched Pom Poko.
lol The dead eyes?
