The JV Club #50: Carla Gallo

It’s an embarrassment of riches… or maybe just an embarrassment of embarrassments in episode 50 (Wow! We made it to 50!) with ridiculously fun guest Carla Gallo (Bones) – complete with revealing stories about prom nights gone awry, blooming late, and… um… cat lockets.

Harvey – Thank you! I think you said the same on Twitter and I’m beyond tickled!

    Spencer – Happy Carla Birthday!

PJ – I like your spider rule!

    John G – Thank you!

Alec – I know! I know they’re our allies! Why must I be so creeped out by them?

Paul – Thank you! I feel better about the cat locket.

    Scott B – You’re right, that’s officially creepier! šŸ™‚

Starbuck – Thank you for making me feel less dumb about that bee!

That Guy- Keeping the cat locket alive and well in Austin. Love it.

Meg – All I can say is workin’ on it! šŸ™‚

  2. Meg is a disaster says:

I don’t know if you realize how many lesbian favorites you guys name-dropped on this podcast…Sarah Paulson, Melanie Lynskey, and of course, Clea. You might have caused several lesbian heads to explode, and that’s awesome.

If you could do a podcast with the Paulson sisters, that would probably be my favorite thing ever on the inter-webs. Just an idea. šŸ™‚

  3. that guy from austin says:

This was a great ep! I’d gladly listen to all 4 hours of chatting. On a side note my friend just lost her cat of 21 years this past weekend. I’m totally going to buy her a cat locket. She’ll definetly love it.

  4. Jo aka Starbuck says:

Oh My God! I am soo the same, when it comes to killing bugs. I feel so bad about killing most of them. I truly feel bad. I’ve never stayed with them as they died, but I so would. Yet another reason you, and your podcast, are the Shit!

  5. Scott B. says:

A cat locket is much less odd than when people take their dead pets to a taxidermist!! What’s creepier than that?!? – – – – DON’T TELL ME!!! :D!!!

  6. Paul says:

This was an awesome conversation. I feel jealous, as a dad of two young kids, that you both had the chance to spend 4 hours with each other on that floor just talking to each other. It’s comforting to me, though, that people still take the time to do this.

Also, I don’t know. The cat locked doesn’t seem that creepy to me. And even if it is, embrace the weird šŸ™‚

  7. Alec says:

Spiders are your allies in the war against other bugs. The only time I squish them is during the winter when they’d freeze into spidercles if I tossed them outside.

Also, Undeclared was an awesome show.

  8. John G. says:

This was an absolute joy to listen to.

  9. PJ says:

Yeah, the self-cleaning thing actually requires to preclean the oven to avoid or reduce the smell issue caused by the burning of everything inside the oven.

Also, spiders inside get squished (or vacuumed). The covenant is that they get to live until their presence is noticed. It’s a quicker process than being slowly tortured to death by a cat anyway (that is what cats do, no matter how adorable they are otherwise).

  10. Spencer says:

Great Episode! side note I have the same birthday as Carla

  11. You listeners know that all of Janet’s episodes are full of heart and joy, but this one felt especially fun. Janet mentions early on that she and Carla spent many hours talking throughout the day, but only recorded one. I don’t think I’m alone when I say I would’ve gladly listened to the other hours of banter betwixt these two had they been recorded.
