Episode 142 welcomes âSkepchickâ Rebecca Watson, who reminds us that every time it rains, it rains pennies from heaven. And speaking of heaven, turns out there may not be one. A look at atheism and secular humanism with a sprinkling of Christianity is supplemented with plenty of R.E.M. and the scientific discovery that humans have two different stomachs! You heard it here first!

When Rebecca mentioned DC Talk I got “Jesus Freak” stuck in my head, ugh. I wasn’t raised in church but attended on my own from age 8 to 24 and stopped when I started questioning my sexuality because I realized almost everyone in my church was/is homophobic and I wanted nothing to do with them anymore. Southern baptists don’t believe you can lose your salvation either, but they do like to say that if you leave the church and have no desire to go back – then you may not be saved in the first place. I’ve heard many a sermon about that lol.
I wish it were summer so bad, actually more spring, I just want some sun and happiness bahaha. We went 3 days with no power cause of a snow storm that lasted 2 days and left 5ft of powder.Oh my god, I got so excited when yall just mentioned tiny houses! There’s a couple I watch on YouTube who have a tiny house and it’s so freakin cute. And they’re just a cool concept.
I’m so ready for warmer weather too! We got a little under a foot this week, which is nowhere near your 5ft, but still more than enough. It was -10 when I listened to this podcast yesterday and I was so envious of their 80 degree weather.
I find the topic of religion fascinating. I don’t really go to church or anything, but two of my favorite college classes were my World’s Religions class and my Philosophy class.
I want this mash future. Love Jon Benjamin. And pizza.
I don’t get people who don’t like snow. Once you find a good reliable contractor for the driveway, it’s an essential part of having 4 seasons to enjoy. Though I also wish there was more fog…
…Not everyone can afford that. Not everyone has a car (or a reliable car)….
“welcome to summer” …meanwhile in Philly it “feels like” 1 F. Yes, 1. With a wind chill advisory of 10 to 15 below zero tonight! hahaGreat to have you back, Janet! <3
