The JV Club #137: Author Marci Crestani

Following the old adage “Write what you know,” episode 137’s guest could have her very own One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest! Janet welcomes author (and woodworker!) Marci Crestani (Halfway to Dead) for a deep-dive into expanding your social horizons, whether empathy is a blessing or a curse, and of course, whether paintings can be “evil.”

  1. Amy says:

I originally listened to this podcast a few days after flying home and I wore dress pants but they were so soft they may as well have been pjs.  It’s funny though because I wore dress pants for the flight but then wore jeans for the wedding that I flew in for (bride and groom insisted everyone wear jeans and sweaters).   And don’t worry Janet, I don’t think I can pull off scarves either.

  2. Nikki says:

I totally agree about the writing thing in that it’s one of the most personal artistic mediums. And, along the same line as what Marci says – it is easier for strangers to read your work than for your own family and friends.  Your family and friends already know you and have a set perception of you, and sometimes writing can knock that off course…
the moment you realize you’re lucid dreaming is awesome because you’re like “this isn’t real so I can do anything I want!”

  3. PJ says:

Let me say that I also love having guests I know nothing about. And my mom has taught me to dress nicely too. Having a little style and pride is not a bad thing. But also never to judge people on their appearances (… except perhaps in a professional setting…).
