I was shocked when Janet didn’t squee over The Westing Game. I would’ve bet money that she loved that book. I put that one up there with A Wrinkle in Time.
Really loved this episode, especially when the conversation got started about making geeky videos growing up. That was something my cousin got me into when Super 8 was still a thing.
One of my favorite memories from high school was in our play production class, when we were assigned to do videos. A lot of people had camcorders, but this was before video editing on computers was remotely affordable, so most people just shot videos and turned them in as-is. I, on the other hand, put together costumes, staged a mock fight in the school’s courtyard and used stop motion animation to put together a Power Rangers parody, which we then edited and put music to. The complete shock and awe of my classmates at the finished product is something I’ll never forget.
I was wondering how long it would take the boys to make a rape joke. Made it halfway through the summer.
I had the exact same thought! But then I thought about all the tactless rape jokes my girl friends make off air and I tried to get peaceful about it. Hope you weren’t too offended!
Damn these teenagers doing nothing for hours together before getting the party started! I mean, I remember those days too, but I feel zero nostalgia.
This episode got me through a stressful first day working for Oxford University. Thank you 🙂
