The HONEST TRAILER for LABYRINTH Is All About David Bowie

If there is any silver lining to come from the passing of a beloved cultural icon, it is the legion of wonderful things people will do to remember him. Articles, tributes, and, of course, the the sharing of favorite work can be comforting as we all process that loss in our own way. Following in this tradition, the Screen Junkies—never ones to disappoint—have just put out an Honest Trailer with the specific intent of talking about “…how awesome David Bowie was” in the 1986 cult classic film Labyrinth. And boy are we happy they did.

It’s no secret that we love the Screen Junkies’ Honest Trailer series, as it sheds light on everything we want to say about the movies we hold dear, and it’s appropriate they turn their sites on Labyrinth in honor of the late and oh-so great David Bowie. …THE COSTUMES! What did you think we were going to say? Sheesh! Get your minds out of the Bog of Eternal Stench.

Labyrinth really does owe so much to Bowie’s performance, as it’s probably the biggest reason the movie holds such a special spot in our hearts. We also have to thank Screen Junkies for insisting that Baby Toby’s tears must have been completely genuine in every scene. Even as adults we’d be creeped out spending any time with those puppets.
