The Heirs Share a New Video for Catchy Electro-Pop Track “Lies” (Premiere)

Despite the band’s name, The Heirs has earned everything that has come its way since 2013. Led by siblings Brandon and Savannah Hudson, the group has released a new music video for “Lies,” which features live footage of the band performing the thumping electro-pop track. That video premieres above, exclusively on Nerdist.

The Hudsons’ names should be familiar to viewers of America’s Got Talent, as the siblings were featured in the eighth season of the show in 2013, when Brandon was only 15 years old and Savannah was just 13. They held their own and made it to the quarterfinals, and it seems the exposure they gained from the program has led to some great fortune for them. Between then and now, they dropped the relatively tame pop-rock sound they featured in their audition in favor of a more contemporary and gripping electronic vibe that’s sure to turn heads when they show it off at South by Southwest this weekend.

“The reality TV success was a very exciting thing. It was very fast moving and that was initially what made us want to step out and then step into something new,” the two said to AXS. “It was a fantastic experience and has given us the leverage to create the music we create today.”

“Lies” is the closing track of the band’s debut EP, Ecliptic, which was released on August 28, 2015 via Capitol Records. The Heirs is currently wrapping up a tour with The Big Pink before heading to SXSW, so check the band’s remaining dates below to see if they’ll be in your area before heading to Texas.
