We’ve been excited about David Lynch and Mark Frost coming back to make a new series of Twin Peaks on Showtime since about the time we heard those words together in a sentence. Why wouldn’t we want to return to the weird, horrifying, yet undeniably charming landscape of murder, White and Black Lodges, and pie? More and more as the shooting went on, we heard about the ever-growing cast of characters to re-populate the sleepy mountain town, made up of both new and returning actors. It seemed like it was going to be a pretty enormous cast, but we had no idea it was going to be…well, the biggest cast list we’ve ever seen, probably.

Jarett Wieselman from Buzzfeed News tweeted the full list, with a helpful asterisk put next to the names of actors returning to the show. We already knew people like Michael Ontkean and Lara Flynn Boyle would be no-shows and that Kyle MacLachlan and Sherilyn Fenn (among many others) would be coming back, but holy BOB in the corner, this cast list is enormous! Sorry Game of Thrones, there’s a biggest-cast-ever in town.
Names that include Naomi Watts, Michael Cera, and Laura Dern, with Jim Belushi, Monica Bellucci, Tom Sizemore, Trent Reznor, Eddie Vedder, and David Koechner also added to the list, too. In fact, there are A LOT of comedy actors whose names you might not know but you certainly will recognize. One of the hallmarks of Twin Peaks was always the way it balanced ultra-weirdness with quirky comedic elements. With improv comedians littering the cast, it seems they’re really trying to make sure those awkward moments are the most awkward.
Now we REALLY can’t wait for Twin Peaks to premiere, sometime in 2017, because we want to know how everybody fits in to this hodgepodge.
What do you think about this enormous list of people? Predict who each and every one of them will play in the comments below!
