The Full FRIENDS Cast Will Reunite on NBC

Could we be any more excited about this news? What news is that, you may ask? Why the tidbit that the entire Friends cast has agreed to reunite on NBC, as was announced Wednesday at their Television Critics Association’s press tour day.

All six stars of the hit show—Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Jennifer Aniston—have apparently said they want to do it, though Robert Greenblatt of NBC did temper the excitement just a little bit. “I’m hoping all six will be in same room at same time, I’m not sure we can logistically can pull it off,” he said. Past efforts to reunite the cast have not been successful, but it looks like this is the first time all six have expressed a willingness to do it.

The reunion is actually part of a bigger event: a two-hour tribute show for James Burrows, whose resume in television is as impressive as it is long. He just directed his 1,000th television episode, and outside of his work on Friends, he’s operated behind the camera on shows like Mary Tyler Moore, The Bob Newhart Show, Laverne & Shirley, Taxi, Cheers, and Will & Grace—just to name a small fraction.

The special will air on February 21.

This sounds like a perfect time to once again push our idea for a Friends reboot. I mean, don’t you want to know someone will be there for you—even if it is only when you FaceTime them.
