The Force is Strong With This STAR WARS Christmas Light Show

For a lot of people, driving through the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights is a staple of the holiday season. While most are content with stringing up a couple of strands and maybe a reindeer or two and calling it a day, others go out of their way to create an experience by coordinating lights to the tune of a popular song. Then there’s Tom BetGeorge, a music teacher from California who created a Star Wars show to put the rest of the neighborhood to shame.

Running a whole five minutes, this light show — which was featured on ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight and twice on ABC’s Good Morning America — utilizes 9 tracks from the Star Wars series and was created using over 100,000 lights and about 12,500 channels. According to the YouTube description, the decorator sequenced the show using LOR, mixed the music and sound effects with Digital Performer and filmed it using a 35-foot lift at 3 AM.

Though you’d think the surrounding neighbors would hate living next to him around the holidays, Tom assures that they are supportive because he uses the display to raise money for the homeless population through his church. He was also considerate enough to make sure none of the beams shine on houses or nearby flight paths.

If you’re interested in seeing more of this guy’s work, head on over to his YouTube channel. He’s centered a couple of other shows around “Let it Go” from Disney’s Frozen, and even the popular Ylvis hit “ What Does the Fox Say.”

Was this the light show you were looking for? What would you do if this guy was your neighbor? Let us know in the comments below.
