The age of the internet is now clearly divided into two distinct time periods: before The Force Awakens trailer was released and after it. This new age is defined by constant re-working and adapting of the trailer, designed to keep us entertained so we donât lose our minds waiting until the movie actually opens. The newest version not only wants us to get excited to see the movie, but also to play with toys.
This version of the  trailer comes from Workshop LEGO Animation, and is a shot-for-shot remake using the tiny plastic building blocks.
This is pretty impressive for itâs accuracy, but itâs also pretty funny. I think itâs because of the sincerity of the trailer, which takes this dramatic, intense footage and, you know, remakes it with toys. I mean, how can you not laugh at the crazed LEGO Han Solo?
Oh, and huge kudos for the work on the destroyed Vader mask. The attention to detail is very much appreciated. Minus, you know, the head of hair that LEGO Finn has versus what John Boyega actually looks like.
We have so many versions of this trailer at this point, itâs hard to keep track of them all–one for the original trilogy, one for the prequels, a Jar Jar one, a chronological one, a music only one, and those are just a few.
We have a month to go until the movie opens on December 18. Thatâs enough time for roughly a million more of these. Keep up the good work internet.
