THE FLASH Movie Loses Its Director

Last month, movie fans were given their first glimpse of Ezra Miller’s Flash during Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on his way to the two-part Justice League films and The Flash movie. But before Miller’s Barry Allen can headline his own film, he’s gonna need a new director!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, first-time director Seth Grahame-Smith has departed from The Flash over “creative differences.” However, Grahame-Smith’s script for The Flash is reportedly still being used for the movie. Grahame-Smith previously wrote The LEGO Batman Movie, Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and he has also been linked to Beetlejuice 2.

This isn’t necessarily bad news for The Flash. If Grahame-Smith’s script is still in play then the project shouldn’t have any problems finding a new director before the film begins production. The Flash won’t be released until March 3, 2018, which suggests that filming won’t start until 2017. Also, this move could allow a veteran director to join The Flash and put their stamp on the franchise.

There aren’t many details currently known about The Flash’s script, but it’s been widely rumored that Ray Fisher will reprise his role as Cyborg in The Flash while teaming up with Barry Allen for a buddy-style superhero adventure. Producer Deborah Snyder even seemed to confirm that rumor earlier this month.
