Animated Law and Order. TBS is going the animated route with The Cops. The show will star Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks as two L.A. patrolmen “trying their best to protect and serve, sometimes failing at both. The Return of the Hair! Disney Channel’s giving Rapunzel back her long, magical locks. Tangled: Before Ever After, a sequel to Tangled, is basically a made for TV movie-length pilot for the upcoming Tangled: The Series. Whew. I’m all tangled up in titles. The movie will drop on the Disney Channel in March with Rapunzel and her hair, Flynn, and other familiar faces. [Nerdist]
Bake Some Happiness. Rejoice, American fans of The Great British Bake-Off, because the fourth season of the series (called The Great British Baking Show in the U.S.) has been picked up by PBS. It will arrive on June 16. [Deadline]
Ending Nigh. IFC has announced Portlandia will return for season eight in 2018. They’ve also announced that will be the final season for the quirky comedy about misfits in Portland.

Relatives. Powerless is making another strong connection to the DC Comics universe. Alan Tudyk’s character, Van Wayne, is Bruce Wayne’s cousin. Learn Van’s nickname for his crime-fighting cousin in the above promo. Powerless premieres on February 2. [Entertainment Weekly]
A Numbers Question. We know Game of Thrones will wrap with season eight, but HBO is still figuring out just how many episodes will make up the final season. HBO programming president Casey Bloys appeared at TCA and told TVLine they haven’t formally renewed Thrones for season eight because the number of episodes isn’t nailed down. “The only thing weâre working out is how many episodes they [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] want to do. Theyâre still figuring it out because I think theyâre trying to get a shape of the season,” he said. He’s hoping they deliver more than six episodes (season seven is set for seven episodes). [IGN]
Another Round! Go ahead and treat yourself to a drink. Why? Comedy Central has renewed Drunk History. The 14-episode fifth season will premiere in 2017.
