The Best Binge-worthy TV Shows of 2015

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, I’m not talking about being forced to make awkward small talk about what exactly you’re doing with your life with your overbearing Aunt Prudence. I’m talking about the surfeit of free time you’ll have as you laze on the couch in a turkey-fueled holiday food coma. That free time will need to be filled somehow, so rather than listening to Uncle Pete’s “totally mindblowing” conspiracy theory about Barack Obama, Kylo Ren, and the new 1984 Denver Broncos, you should use it to catch up on all the amazing TV you missed in 2015.

Because, let’s face it — with 409 scripted series on the airwaves this year, there is no way you could have watched it all. Unless you’re a Time Lord. In which case you would have to tell me. Something about tachyonic entrapment and all that. My point is that there’s a metric ton of TV out there, to the point where smarmy writers are dubbing it Peak TV. Well, today on The Dan Cave, I’ll help you sort through the morass of televised media to find the most binge-worthy TV of 2015.

Now, before you get your hackles up, I left out shows like Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Orphan Black. You probably already watch those, and you don’t need me telling you what you already know. So, in that spirit, hopefully a few of these choices will surprise you–which is a good thing, considering just how many choices you have. Just be sure to come up for air next week when we’ll be looking at the best TV coming your way in 2016, too. And while you’re at it, why not relive the greatest TV of 2015–not just what you need to binge-watch.

Thanks again for watching today’s show! It’s not too late to pick up a copy of my books, 100 Things Star Wars Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die and 100 Things Avengers Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die, as a last-minute stocking stuffer. Or perhaps a shiny new The Dan Cave t-shirt is more your speed. If all else fails, you can consult our comprehensive list of holiday gift guides that have suggestions for nerds of every type.

What other bingeworthy TV would you add to this list? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

Dan Casey is the senior editor of The Nerdist and will be spending his holiday watching as much television as humanly feasible.
