With fifty-one days remaining until Earth’s Mightiest Heroes make their triumphant return to movie theaters, excitement is at an all-time high. After all, the Age of Ultron is approaching at a startling pace and the trailers just keep getting better and better. However, many people may not know much about Ultron apart from the fact that he seems like a sleazy cybernetic version of every James Spader character ever. Why do some people claim Ant-Man invented Ultron while others claim he’s Tony Stark’s murderous little baby? What is his relationship to the Vision? Is he really such a bad guy? (Spoiler alert: yes, he is.) Don’t worry–I’m here to help. In today’s episode of The Dan Cave, I will explain everything you need to know about the meanest machine in the Marvel Universe, both on-screen and in the comics.
In other words, I’ll show you how we went from this…
…to this.
Whether you’re an Avengers superfan or you’re simply wondering who this big bad bucket of bolts is and where he came from, this video will explain everything you need to know in less than five minutes. So go ahead and order a hot shawarma plate, and watch this video. By the time it’s done, you’ll be well educated and ready to eat like an Avenger.
Want to go even deeper into the world of the Avengers? You’re in luck! I wrote an entire book about it that you can pre-order now: 100 Things Avengers Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die?
That’s all for today’s show! Let me know what your favorite Ultron stories are in the comments below or whisper it to me gently on Twitter (@osteoferocious).
No mention of Ultron Mark 12? Where’s my Wackos fans at?! (My god, that face…)
Dan Casey to the rescue. The single entity on the Nerdist network that, actually, sounds like he has read a comic book.
Dan won me over in whole with this video alone.
I’m a gluten freak. That straight up delicious.
No mention of what “Age of Ultron” may mean to your geekier friends? Afraid to explain all the parallel universes?
I actually had a mention in there, but we cut it for time. Basically, there’s no real need to explain Age of Ultron in the film context since it bears no relation to the comic.
Thanks for the COMIC character’s history survey. Would love to see your proposed “END CREDIT IDEA” or surprise. LOVE a “Dr. Strange” surprise JUST BECAUSE FAN and “Movie Poster”. P.S. Do a series of these COMIC histories during the release week of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON regarding upcoming movies in the MCU. ALSO GET OUT OF THE CAVE.
Glad you enjoyed it! Hoping to do more character histories like this to make these movies more accessible.
Jon Snow Dies.
mouth watering ultron awesomeness
I don’t see any video.
Is it still not working for you? What browser/OS are you using?
I’m on a Galaxy S4 reading through my Facebook app, and I don’t see it either.
