THE DAN CAVE: The Best Binge-worthy TV of 2014

Welcome back to another episode of The Dan Cave, stalacbros! Is that a remote control in your pocket or are those khakis tenting weirdly? Either way, cool contours!

Recently, I ran down some of the best things to hatewatch with your snarkiest pals, but being cynical can get pretty exhausting. Rather than dwelling on the negative as we wind down 2014, I figured we should celebrate the shows that had us champing at the bit for more.

So, on today’s episode of The Dan Cave, I am celebrating the most binge-worthy television shows of 2014. These were the series and episodes that kept us up until the wee hours of the morning (and rueing our life choices the next day at work) and had us feverishly clicking “next episode” until we emerged from our small screen stupor, looked up, and realized we had not moved from the couch in close to 72 hours. But whatever — with shows these good, it’s worth the sedentary sacrifice.

What were your most binge-worthy TV series of 2014? Let me know in the comments below or whisper it to me softly on Twitter (@Osteoferocious) using the hashtag #TheDanCave!

Want even more The Dan Cave? That’s sweet of you to say. Check out last week’s episode where I count down 13 of the greatest Christmas movies ever made.

Looking for a last-minute Christmas gift? Want to look fly as hell going into the new year? Well, you’re in luck! Grab a The Dan Cave t-shirt from the official Nerdist Store and swaddle yourself in comfort.

Hannibal is amazing. Thanks for adding it to this list.

  2. Robin says:

Orange is the New Black, which was meh.  But Legend of Korra!  I caught up before Book 4 was released and it was so *annoying* that I had to wait for each episode.
I want to do Fargo, Manhattan, and Broad City over the hiatus.  Now I have more to add to the list.  Thanks DanCave.  *skips off to the Internet*

  3. Mikey says:

You’re the worst.  Watched it in one sitting

  4. Kam says:

I suppose there aren’t enough episodes yet to call it binge watching, but I’d have to add Constantine.

Thank you thank you thank you for including Hannibal on this list and for loving it so much!  It truly has been the most interesting, captivating, and gruesome show of 2014 and it needs more attention.  Season 3 starts in a few months…now is the perfect time to binge watch seasons 1 and 2.  ðŸ™‚

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Arrow and The Legend of Korra. These shows, and The Flash, are the only shows this year that I had to watch right away. I’ve already binged watch them all again and plan to do so many more times.
