The Collection: Superman, Seth ‘n’ Rover, BSG Friends, and a Very Bad Night

We put the odds and ends that pile up around here into The Collection, our irregular column of stuff. Today, it’s a couple of trailers bookending a video from the Shorty Awards (where Chris Hardwick himself was a presenter) and an unlikely mashup. Here we go:

The Dark Caped Crusader… er, Man of Steel has a TV spot. (Disclaimer: Legendary Pictures, Nerdist, you know the deal) Doesn’t reveal much or show anything new, but we’ll take what we can get. Besides, we were on the case in 2011:

From the Shorty Awards, a video in which our friend Seth Green and our friend the Mars Curiosity Rover have a conversation on Twitter. Turns out the rover’s female and wants to watch Game of Thrones without paying for it:

Battlestar Galactica‘s opening in Friends style? You know, I think you could do this with any show. Seriously, just do quick edits of anything and slap The Rembrandts behind it. But you didn’t and someone else did:

And then there’s the trailer for The Purge:

The idea behind The Purge is that, for the good of society for the rest of the year, crime is legal (huh, there’s a contradiction in terms) for 12 hours — one night — a year, no police, no hospitals, everyone gets to go crazy. In the movie, with Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey, a family lets a stranger who says he’s in trouble into their house, and I imagine horror ensues. Suspend disbelief for a couple of hours and it could be interesting, although when I think about how I (and, I imagine, everyone else) would handle a lawless evening, the only thought involves arming one’s self heavily and never, ever, EVER answering the door.
