Let’s close out the week with one more dip into The Collection, okay? This time, it’s a bunch of familar faces, some Star Wars-related stuff, and Die Antwoord and Neill Blomkamp coming together as you knew they ultimately would:
It’s back to Costco for the new trailer for Red 2. nothing we didn’t already know was coming but more of everything (and more Anthony Hopkins), and we learn, definitely, not to insult Helen Mirren with an age joke:
And while we wait for July 19th, here are some character posters for the movie:
The guys at SketchZord offer this video in which “Billy Dee Williams” (Marshall Givens) pitches a return for Lando Calrissian for the new Star Wars chapter, talking to “the little alien man with the foldy face” or taking on “Dooth Vader.” The timing of this is pretty amazing, since the real Billy Dee Williams is saying that he hasn’t been contacted and a Facebook page campaigning to get him into the movie has been posted:
Hey, speaking of Star Wars, the George Lucas Cultural Arts Museum, which is only in the planning stage, is now campaigning for support as the Presidio Trust in San Francisco considers the project, and Mr. Lucas would very much appreciate it if you’ll go and Like the museum’s Facebook page, and if you want an idea of what the museum will contain, see the proposal by clicking here– there’s some great artwork waiting to go on display, and more.
And, finally, Die Antwoord’s Ninja and Yo-landi Vi$$er will play themselves in Disrict 9 and Elysium director Neill Blomkamp’s next movie, according to South Africa’s Die Burger. It’s a comedy about robots called Chappie and that’s about all we know. And as io9 points out, Neill was name-checked in Baby’s On Fire:
So that should be interesting.
