The Clone Club Grows: ORPHAN BLACK Adds a Ton of New Cast Members to Season 3

Welcome, sestras, one and all to the latest announcement regarding everyone’s favorite Clone Club — Orphan Black. The BBC America series is well underway on the production front for its 2015 installment (hurry up hurry up) and, of course, that means we’re starting to learn what new characters and curious adversaries and allies lay ahead in the third season storyline. Needless to say: there will be SPOILERS, sweeties.

Turns out? There’s going to be A LOT more moving parts to the third season, as the network not only confirmed Justin Chatwin’s involvement, but also announced a few other names — including the immensely talented and creepy-spooky (in a good way!) James Frain. He as well as several others will come into the fold throughout the season as we dive deeper into Projects Leda and Castor and find out just what in the heck the government and other agencies involved with bringing these human clones to life.

First up is the aforementioned Chatwin, whose character was finally revealed after the tweet above sent the Clone Club into speculation overdrive. He’s slated to play a fella named Jason Kellerman. Slated to be a recurring character throughout the season, Jason is a drug-dealer type “in the guise of a charismatic businessman” so we’re fairly certain he and Sarah are going to play serious ball this season. (Unless Allison’s REALLY gone off the rails this season. Which, you know, could happen.)

Frain hops on board from BBC America’s Intruders as Ferdinand, which is the perfect sort of name for a well-educated, “cleaner” type who’s the strong arm of that über-secret multi-national that’s in charge of the DYAD and a few others. No doubt questionable ethics and ruthless ways will dot that particular storyline. (Sidenote: he sounds like the perfect sort of partner for Rachel Duncan, doesn’t he?)

Also joining the cast is Lost Girl‘s Ksenia Solo as Shay, a “soulful and compassionate holistic healer with a great sense of humor destined to become a new friend to Cosima Niehaus” — which, uh oh, are Cophine ‘shippers going to lose their gourds/have to deal with a love triangle? — Kyra Harper as the ruthless “Dr. Coady, and advisor to the military with an agenda that even her superiors do not suspect,” and Earl Pastko as a fella named Bulldog, Ferdinand’s bodyguard who apparently doesn’t talk at all and does all of Ferdinand’s dirty work. Because, duh: a man named Ferdinand never gets his hands dirty, amirite?

Needless to say Bulldog is obviously going to be our favorite character because who doesn’t love a ridiculous henchman with a bizarre affliction?

So now all we need is for the series to hurry the eff up and just return to us already. (I MEAN JEEZ C’MON.)

Which new character sounds the most intriguing to you? We’re all sorts of interested in what Dr. Coady’s deal could be, but let us know your thoughts in the comments.
