This morning, Entertainment Weekly debuted four new character covers for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead, and man, does it look like the cast is ready for a fight.

Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Steven Yuen (Glenn), and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) all got action covers, with Maggie and Glen getting paired up (obviously), in advance of the series’ fifth season premiere.

Of course, the covers make sense: Rick and his crew will have to contend with the crazies at Terminus along with the usual crop of walkers that plague the AMC series. Entertainment Weekly photographer Dylan Coulter captured the cast for each of the covers all armed and ready to tussle. Except for Rick – Rick’ll do you with his bare hands.

Which is great, because we don’t know what the folks at Terminus have in mind for Rick’s people – are they cannibals or just the Governor’s brand of post-apocalyptic crazy? And after tearing out a guy’s throat last season, what will Rick do to keep his son and friends safe for another day? Oh, and what’s up with Tyrese and Carol? They’re headed to Terminus as well – what will they do when they find it’s not quite the safe haven they hoped it would be?

We’ll find out in a few weeks. The Walking Dead season 5 premieres October 12 on AMC.
