The BSG Prequel’s Coming… This Friday. Really

Your wait is finally being rewarded. The Battlestar Galactica prequel Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, for which the words “long awaited” surely apply, now has a release date: Friday (November 9th), via Machinima Prime on YouTube, and the trailer was posted today. It’ll be released as ten 7-1/2 minute episodes over four weeks, and a two-hour TV version will air on Syfy in early 2013 followed by an unrated (ooh, dirty!) version on home video.

The prequel is about, of course, Young Adama, played by Luke Pasqualino from the BBC version of Skins, as he learns the ropes on the Galactica during the First Cylon War, locking horns with cranky and soon-to-retire co-pilot Coker (Ben Cotton). The manner by which this is being released may be a surprise, and the timing sure is, but if you’ve been wondering when, if ever, you’d get to see this, you need wonder no longer.

I’m with Nathaniel …. I will geek all over this, then purchase the blu ray (“by your command!”); but I don’t trust the Sci Fi Channel anymore (Does anyone?) … They lost me the moment they kept replacing “interesting genre tv shows with an occasional miniseries” with shit-tastic saturday night movies and shit-tastic reality tv programming (we need another genre tv channel that delivers – even if its just syndicating the old tv series we all <3!) ….

    Hell Battlestar Galactica

    Fuck You Sci Fi Channel

  3. John says:

    Looks pretty cool,

I really did want to rewrite the Adama backstory so he actually had more combat service during the war. It seems the Centurions have some different models but I do hope they keep the ‘By Your Command’ voice. The space battle nerd in mean is looking forward to all the ship on ship action!…crap I need to get out more…nah its too cold anyway 🙂

    🙂

  4. I’m going to totally watch this and get really into it. Then, if all my nerd friends get into it too and it gets great ratings, then Syfy will …probably just cancel it because it’ll be too expensive. That’s what happened with Eureka. And let’s not forget how Caprica was cancelled just as it started getting interested. Then there was Farscape…

Sorry Syfy. I keep liking your shows and you keep fucking my affection. Good luck with your ghost hunting shows and “professional” wrestling. You should be my favorite channel, and frankly, you’ve created some great shows, but I can’t trust you.

    Nerdgasm!

I hope Bear is doing the soundtrack again.
