Hopefully some platinum records really tie a room (or a few dozen rooms) together, because the mansion from The Big Lebowski is going to have some big time stars moving in for a while, as Jay Z and Beyonce have apparently signed a one-year lease to live there.
The home, located in Holmby Hills in Los Angeles, was owned by former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, who sold it to a British billionaire last year for the low sum of 45 million dollars. Who did that buyer happen to beat out for the home? None other than his new tenants, Jay Z and Beyonce.
Apparently the new owner was barely using the home (tough life), so he decided to rent it out, and this time the musical power couple jumped on it. The cost to rent a 45 million dollar mansion is just $150,000 a month. Expensive, but you can’t put a price tag on being able to walk around your home muttering, “Her life is in your hands, Dude,” over and over like you are Brandt himself.
The couple will be the first known musicians to reside there in some capacity since Uli Kunkel of Autobahn could be found floating in the pool.
The Big Lebowski mansion is obviously a very nice one, but which cinematic abode would you most like to live in if the price of rent was no obstacle? You tell us in the comments below, we’ll just be here, finishing our coffee.
