The Beatles’ YouTube Channel is a Step Back in Time

Even if you’re not a fan of the Beatles, it’s pretty hard to deny the massive impact they they had/have on world. They are some of the original trendsetters, rock legends and – if we’re being honest – boy bands that we have no shame in loving. For anyone needing a classic Beatles fix, look no further than the recently launched The Beatles VEVO channel that has some older videos that are downright gorgeous.

Other than the videos being classic, most of them are stunning for their remarkably vivid colors. It’s easy to associate a band like the Beatles with the black and white television footage we’ve seen a million times before. It’s not that we didn’t experience the band in color at any point, it’s just that our minds often go to the grainy black-and-white television footage of their first live U.S. television performance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

Consider the video for “Hello, Goodbye”: it almost looks fake, since we often think of these videos in monochrome. The videos also serve as a reminder that bands will forever try to emulate them in some way. From the ostentatious costumes of “Hello, Goodbye”, to the effortless cool of “Don’t Let Me Down”, which was shot on a rooftop, all these videos still resonate deeply.

They all feel so familiar because it’s nearly impossible to not absorb classics like this through musical osmosis (totally a thing). But this aesthetic is something that every single band has been chasing ever since the Beatles did it first.

We cannot wait for more content to be put on the Beatles VEVO channel! How fast did you subscribe to it? Let us know in the comments below!
