With the release of Batman: Arkham Knight this week, we are being treated to a look at this amazing Batman cosplay from master craftsman, Julian Checkley. Checkley has impressed many fans in the past with some stunning Star Wars cosplay costumes, and even a screen-accurate version of Tom Hardy’s Bane from The Dark Knight Rises.
Now, Checkley is showing off his Batman cosplay based on the suit worn in the Arkham series underdog, Batman: Arkham Origins. Set during a time when Batman was a little newer to the whole masked vigilante thing, the costume is a heavier suit with more armor plating for a not-so-sure-of-himself hero.
Some of the cool bits of trivia about Checkley’s costume include foldable batarangs that he can store on him while in costume, as well as a working fireball gauntlet, that he showed off on Youtube:
All of the armor pieces for the costume were 3D printed for Checkley by fellow cosplay enthusiast, Kevin LeProps, which Checkley then painted and assembled for the suit. Checkley’s wrist computer will also play an audio loop of the pinging sound the Detective Mode makes in the game. While not everyone’s favorite entry in the Arkham Series, this cosplay proves that Arkham Origins still had much to offer to the Arkham mythos.
What do you think of the suit? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to check out more of Checkley’s work over on his Facebook page.
