For almost a week, Arrowâs co-showrunners, Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle have been teasing the internet-breaking properties of the Season 4 trailer. Today at DragonCon, the Arrow Season 4 trailer was released and the internet broke!
Well, perhaps âbrokeâ was an over-exaggeration, but there are definitely some crowd pleasing moments in the new trailer, including a brief glimpse of John Constantine (Matt Ryan) and the resurrection of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz)! Anarky (Alexander Calvert) also appears for the first time, and Echo Kellum gets a big introduction as Mister Terrific!
Among other things, the trailer reveals that Starling City was renamed âStar Cityâ in memory of the âlateâ Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh). Wonât they be surprised when he pops up in DCâs Legends of Tomorrow! We also see the post-Arrow life of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) as well as Thea (Willa Holland) in costume as the new Red Arrow (or Speedy).
The trailer also lays the foundation for Oliverâs return and Theaâs descent into madness while debuting Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the new big bad of Arrow Season 4. John Diggle (David Ramsey) also appears in his Magneto-ish (Diggneto?) costume as his grudge with Oliver carries over to the new season.
And of course, we get to see Oliver back in action as the Arrow, with his new costume and a brief glimpse of Oliverâs flashback adventures as well.
Arrow Season 4 will premiere on The CW on Wednesday, October 7.
