The 90s are BACK in this Hip-Hop/DISNEY Mash-Up!

I was a child of the 80s, and a teen of the 90s. The 90s was when I realized that I could actually choose the music I liked, instead of just what my parents had on in the car or at home. While I finally settled on hard rock (Metallica specifically), I did go through a hip-hop phase.

The 90s also brought what I consider to be some of the best animated features Disney ever produced. Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King are still being watched by families today. Hold on a minute, Donnie. Hip-Hop? Disney? Where are you going with this?

Well, I’M not going anywhere, but former American Idol semi-finalist and YouTube star Todrick Hall sure did. He took some of the greatest songs from 90s Disney and performed them to samples of 90s hip-hop. If you always wondered what Aladdin songs would sound like if they were performed to This is How We Do It by Montell Jordan, then I have EXCELLENT news.

Teaming up with Actress Shoshana Bean, Todrick shows his love for both genres while at the same time realizing the tongue-in-cheek fun one can have by putting together something like this. I’ve watched this a few times, and I already have a few of the songs in my head.

If you want to see more of Todrick Hall’s videos, you can check out his YouTube Channel here, and you can follow both Todrick and Shoshana Bean on Twitter.

What say you? Are you going to be singing these versions in the shower tomorrow? Are you hoping this paves the way for the Deathklok Let it Go cover we’ve all been waiting for? Let me know on Twitter or in the comments below.
