The 2016 Golden Globes Winners – Updated Live!

Another year, another Awards Season, and we’re kicking off 2016 with the booziest, most brazen of the bunch: The Golden Globes. Sadly, we do not get another year of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (*pours out a glass of champange*) but the always controversial, sly little smirker Ricky Gervaise is back and bound to make some daring/off-color jokes this time around. AND we’ve got some nominations in both the film and television departments that should make for an interesting show.

On the film side, The Martian is (somehow) nominated for Comedy instead of Drama, the leading ladies are dominating nods for movies like Mad Max: Fury Road, Carol, Room, Joy, Spy, and Trainwreck, and we’ll get to see if any of this year’s excellent genre films walk away with a prize. In the land of TV, we’ve got a staggering numbering of streaming series nominated, and many of our favorites have a chance to win.

In fact, resident Nerdist psychic Dan Casey recently predicted who will win (and who should win) a Golden Globe on a recent episode of The Dan Cave:

We’ll be watching and updating live as the winners are announced, so make sure you tweet along with us on Twitter @nerdist using #NerdistGlobes and let us know what you think of the show!
