When Matt Smith left Doctor Who, he left a two hearts-shaped hole in many of our chests. His last moments were moving, and we’ll always remember when the Doctor was him. Though I’m guessing Smith will still be willing to make the occasional cameo on the time traveling series, we have a perfect candidate to serve as his voice double if one is ever needed: Jake Dunsbridge.
He likes doing impressions, and he decided to tackle Matt Smith’s final moments before regeneration in “The Time of the Doctor.” If you close your eyes while watching the video, you’ll have no idea that it’s not Matt Smith.
Isn’t the impersonation amazing? I’m floored by how he not only mimics Smith’s voice but also the inflection and pauses. It’s so over the top good that it’s almost like he’s lip-syncing. I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but I appreciate that his hair is floppy and similar to the 11th Doctor’s. He just needs to don a bow tie for the full effect.
The impression got the attention of Whovians to the tune of nearly 200,000 views. Doctor Who’s official YouTube account commented, “We will always remember when the Doctor was you… that was fantastic Jake!” Dunsbridge even got a expletive-filled compliment from Matt Smith by way of Mark Gatiss on Twitter:
This was Dunsbridge’s first video, and I’m hoping he’ll work on replicating all of Matt Smith’s major speeches. What do you think of Dunbridge’s impression? Would you follow him into a TARDIS? Jump to the comments and let us know.

That was amazing!
I’m glad this finally made it to the site! This is a fantastic story.
The guy from the Doctor Who Parody by The Hillywood Show and this guy should get together and do stuff for the 10th and 11th doctor.
Make him the next Doctor!!! How great would it be to have a teen be a doctor!
He’s already done another one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeTLiSodoWw
