Telltale Games Teases New BATMAN Game

Telltale Games hit us with the unexpected tonight, announcing a brand new series themed around Batman. They’ll be teaming up with Warner Bros. to put the good ol’ Telltale touch on the Dark Knight, with a game slated for release in 2016. Telltale has not announced a title or any details about the game just yet. However, there is a teaser that was shown at tonight’s Game Awards show, which you can view above. Telltale had the following to say about the upcoming project:

“At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year,” CEO of Telltale Games Kevin Bruner. “This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”

This is an interesting move by Telltale, who announced earlier this year that they’d be teaming up with Marvel for a video game series in 2017. Telltale has been dipping their pens in many inks, but they’ve also handled every property they’ve worked on with respect. Hey, as long as they don’t give him a gun, I’m game! We’ll be sure to keep you up to date as Telltale-Batman details are divulged.

How do you feel about Telltale Games’ taking a crack at Batman? Does it seem like they’re spreading themselves thin? Let us know in the comments below!
