Koei Tecmo is bringing Attack on Titan to the PlayStation 4. The game is being developed by Omega Force and is scheduled to release in North America some time next year. The teaser trailerâwhich you can view at the top of the pageâwas released alongside a statement from Koei Tecmo Games President Hisashi Koinuma:
âI am very happy to reveal that we have started developing a new action game based on the phenomenally successful Attack on Titan! Having evolved from a manga/anime series to an internationally recognized brand, we were enchanted by the opportunity to create our own take on humanityâs last stand against these overwhelmingly powerful beings, the Titans. Although there is still a long wait until this game is released in 2016, our studios are already pouring all of their passion and excitement into it and we hope to reveal more information soon! In the meantime, prepare for battle! The Titans are coming.â
Omega Force is well known for their large list of Warriors games spanning across a slew of different properties. They made quite the name for themselves with the Dynasty Warriors series, but have more recently been praised for their work on Hyrule Warriors and their upcoming title Dragon Quest Heroes. It’s good to see Attack on Titan making it’s way to a next-gen platform, but I definitely have a few words on my ideal scenario for a game of this magnitude. That’s a discussion saved for next week’s Nerdist:Play, but as far as Omega Force goes, I’m at least hopeful that this game will turn out a lot better than the disappointing 3DS game and and lackluster live-action motion picture.
