Task Force X Arrives In New SUICIDE SQUAD Trailer

Earlier this month, Warner Bros. teased a new Suicide Squad trailer for the MTV Movie Awards, and tonight they delivered! Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, and Cara Delevingne showed up in person at the Movie Awards to introduce the new trailer, which finds Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag explaining the rules to the villains and misfits who comprise Task Force X, a team that is better known as the Suicide Squad!

Let’s just say that Flag’s new team doesn’t exactly respond well to his orders, even when their own lives are on the line. And the Joker has definitely come out to play…

For the first time since The Dark Knight, the Joker will be back on the big screen, as Leto offers up his take on the character. Robbie will have the honor being the first actress to play Harley Quinn in a film, while Smith will step into the role of the deadly assassin known as Deadshot. As for Delevingne, she’s playing a very dark version of Enchantress.

The new trailer also offers up another look at the other Task Force X recruits: Boomerang (Jai Courtney), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and Katana (Karen Fukuhara). And in case you were wondering why Katana can openly threaten Flag with her sword and not worry about getting blown up, the answer is simple. She’s a volunteer, and not one of his prisoners. In fact, Katana is Flag’s bodyguard and even she doesn’t seem to like him!

Suicide Squad was directed by David Ayer, and it will hit movie theaters on Friday, August 5.
