Family Time. What happens when all the Winchesters and Castiel and a random hunter go to a diner together? Adorable things. This clip from Thursday’s Supernatural features a waitress flirting with Castiel and everyone being amusing. “Why would you want her to smell like food?” It’s an important question.
A Novel Idea. Starz and BBC One are bringing a four-episode limited series adaptation of E.M. Forster’s Howards End to the screen and get a load of this cast: Hayley Atwell (yay!) as Margaret Schlegel, Tracey Ullman as Aunt Juley Mund, and Matthew Macfadyen as Henry Wilcox. Huz. Zah.
Director’s Chair. Jed Whedon is stepping into a new behind-the-scenes role in the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode “Self Control.” He’ll be directing for the first time. The episode will wrap the Life Model Decoy arc. [CBR]
Meet Max. The kids in Stranger Things are gaining another pal in season two: Max, played by Sadie Sink. An image recently released by Netflix shows Max, the new kid in town, and we have all the speculation about how she fits into the picture. Jessica Chobot goes over it in the latest Nerdist News. [Nerdist]
All the Details. What’s up with the return of Twin Peaks? What do we officially know about the upcoming Showtime continuation of the series? These questions won’t keep you awake at night anymore, because Eric has a post breaking down everything we know about the new Twin Peaks right here at Nerdist. Pour a damn fine cup of coffee, sit back, and let the words soak in.
Hello, TV Movie. I’m going to say a TV movie falls into the category of TV news (it could go either way, guys!) because I want to let you know Benedict Cumberbatch is working on one. He’ll executive produce and star in a 90-minute adaptation of Ian McEwan’s The Child in Time for BBC One and Masterpiece. Learn more at Variety.
Daughter Problems. In case you didn’t know, SuperMansion is back today, February 16. You can see a clip from season two above and watch the premiere at Crackle.
Get Smart. Netflix’s Project Mc2, MGA Entertainment, Google, and iD Tech have joined forces to launch the Smart Girls Rock Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead sweepstakes. Project Mc2, an Emmy nominated Netflix original series, is all about helping advance girls in the areas of S.T.E.A.M., so this sweepstakes to help promote their “smart is the new cool” brand makes total sense. Get details on the sweepstakes right this way.
Take This Grain of Salt. The Hashtag Show has a source that has revealed the casting breakdown for characters that will be featured in The CW’s Black Lightning pilot. It’s not official, but the report features descriptions of Black Lightning/Jefferson Pierce, his daughters, his ex-wife, and more. You can watch this video (Black Lightning talk starts at about 49 minutes) to learn more or head to IGN.
