Take Your PlayStation Friends With You Everywhere

Having a difficult time breaking away from your shiny new PlayStation 4? Itching to see what your PlayStation Network buddies are up to while you’re out and about? Sony Computer Entertainment has released a PlayStation mobile application for Android and iPhone platforms, allowing folks to stay connected to their PlayStation Network ID from anywhere.

The companion app is pretty nice for PlayStation’s first shot at it globally. All of the following features are included:

  • View PlayStation Network profiles
  • View your PSN friends list as well as friend activity
  • Accept and send friend requests
  • View and compare trophies
  • Send and receive messages (voice and image support included)
  • View notifications, invitations and game alerts
  • View friends’ live gameplay

The only downside to the app is that certain features like entering the PlayStation Store prompt you to launch your phone’s web browser. But the app is still young, and for what it is, it functions quite admirably. Download the app for free on from the Google Play Store or the iTunes store right now and keep tabs on your PS4 buddies. Be sure to check out our first impressions of the PlayStation 4 here.
