Syfy Bringing BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Reunion (and More) to SDCC 2017

The invasion has begun, and in just a few weeks, Syfy’s shows and events will be unleashed upon downtown San Diego for the annual Comic-Con International. This year, Syfy is bringing 15 panels to Comic-Con, but more importantly, it’s bringing Comic-Con to viewers across the country with three nights of television coverage.

Zachary Levi will host Syfy Live From Comic-Con starting on Thursday, July 20 and continuing through Saturday, July 22, with a live broadcast that recaps the major news from Comic-Con with guests from the worlds of film, television, and comics. Additionally, Levi will host his annual invite-only Nerd party on Friday night, while Syfy will allow all fans to join their parties without getting shut out. The network is hosting two first-come-first-served nerd parties at the Children’s Museum on Thursday, July 20 and Saturday, July 22.

Perhaps more impressively, Syfy is putting on 15 panels at Comic-Con, including a Battlestar Galactica reunion with creator Ron Moore and cast members from the series, as well as spotlight panels for The Magicians, The Expanse, 12 Monkeys, Happy!, Krypton, Van Helsing, Wynonna Earp, Z Nation, Dark Matter, Ghost Wars, and Sharknado. Comedian John Hodgman is also moderating the “SYFY Hosts the Great Debate” panel, which will feature sci-fi luminaries debating some of the greatest genre questions, including that of the best Star Trek captain. Additionally, Syfy will host screenings for Blood Drive and the first episode of Channel Zero: No-End House.

For fans outside of the Convention Center, Syfy is running Trivia Trolleys, which will offer opportunities to win money and other prizes on the streets of San Diego. There’s even going to be Cosplay karaoke buses sponsored by Syfy, which will invite fans to sing their favorite sci-fi theme songs alongside a few familiar faces. For music lovers, the Syfy drumline will march through San Diego’s Gaslamp district as they play their rendition of popular sci-fi music. And if you need help with your cosplay, Syfy is also running several cosplay repair carts. Orlando Jones will also be running around with Syfy as he conducts pop up nuptials for lucky fans who want to get married at the con.
