SUPERNATURAL Star Jim Beaver Joins Cast of THE NEW ADVENTURES OF PETER AND WENDY

You’ve probably heard a few takes on Peter Pan’s story, but do you know the version told by The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy? The web series puts a modern spin on the tale by J.M. Barrie similar to what The Lizzie Bennet Diaries did with Pride and Prejudice – right down to clever transmedia extras. Set in Neverland, Ohio, the story follows Wendy Darling (Paula Rhodes), Peter Pan (Kyle Walters), and their friends plus Tinkerbell. Wendy is an advice vlogger who’s ready to move out of the small town, and Peter is a comic book artist who never wants to grow up. And not so spoiler: he’s crushing on Wendy. It’s a sweet premise, and season one delivered plenty laughs and heartwarming moments.

The story isn’t finished though, and the cast and crew need your help to head back to Neverland for two more seasons. Besides wrapping up the paths of the characters we know and adore, they’re introducing George Darling. He’ll be played by Jim Beaver, probably best known for his role as Bobby Singer in Supernatural. Fingers crossed they’ll figure out a way for Mr. Darling to utter the word idgit.

To get the funds necessary to make 24 episodes for season two, they’ve turned to Indiegogo. They’re asking for $55,000 to cover paying for cast and crew, equipment, and distribution. If they don’t raise the funds, they’ll still release season two but it will just be shorter. Insert sad face here.

If you haven’t heard of the series, take a moment to watch the trailer for season one:

Charming, right? I guess I should say darling.

You can help fund seasons two and three of The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy at Indiegogo. You have until August 31st. Backing levels range from $5 all the way up to $10,000. For that top tier, you get an executive producer credit and at many levels in between you can get the season one DVD, video chats with the cast, and Neverland swag.
